Sizing varies across brands, but if an item runs small or large, we’ll highlight it in the description. Use the Trufit sizing tool to find your best fit, and refer to the Face the Water size chart for a standardized guide across brands and designs.

For the most accurate fit, measure your hips, bust, and thighs as shown in the guide.

Performance swimwear is designed to fit snugly—wrinkles may indicate it's too big. Most swimsuits loosen over time, so consider this when selecting your size

Follow these steps for a swimsuit that fits well, feels great, and performs in the water.

1. Define Your Needs

  • Purpose: Is it for performance, fitness, or leisure?
  • Durability: Chlorine-resistant, consider how frequently you plan to swim?
  • Support & Coverage: Choose based on preference, comfort and function.

2. Choose Your Back Style

  • More support: Racerback or full back.
  • More flexibility: Cross back, V Back, scoop back, or trapeze back.

3. Get the Right Bust Support

  • More support: Thick or adjustable straps, racerback, inserts, extra panels.
  • Less support: Thinner straps, scoop back.

4. Pick Your Coverage

  • More coverage: Full back, racerback, shallow scoop back
  • Less coverage: Deep scoop back, cross back, high-cut legs.
  • Legs: High-cut elongates, low-cut offers more coverage.

5. Choose Bum Coverage

  • Bum: Full to cheeky cuts—pick your comfort level.

6. Get the Right Size

  • Check our size charts, brands vary. Leverage the Trufit app to find your fit.
  • Measure bust, waist, and hips.
  • Consider torso length to find your fit, long or short-bodied

7. Check Performance Fit

  • Snug fit with no wrinkles.
  • Swimsuits loosen over time—don’t size up too much.

Face the Water Swimwear Care Guide

At Face the Water, we want you to enjoy your swimwear for as long as possible. Proper care ensures longevity, colour vibrancy, and fabric integrity. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your swimwear looking and feeling its best.

1. Rinse Immediately After Use
After swimming, rinse your swimwear in cold, fresh water to remove chlorine, salt, and other chemicals that can damage the fabric. Preferably, rinse before you leave the pool or beach.

2. Hand Wash with Mild Detergent
Use a gentle detergent and lukewarm water to hand wash your swimwear. Avoid harsh detergents, bleach, and fabric softeners, as they can break down fibres and fade colours.

3. Avoid Excessive Soaking
Do not soak swimwear for extended periods, as this can weaken the elasticity of the fabric.

4. Dry Flat in the Shade
Lay your swimwear flat to dry in a shaded area. Direct sunlight can cause fading, while tumble drying can damage the fabric and elastic.

5. Do Not Wring or Twist
Gently squeeze out excess water instead of wringing or twisting, which can misshape the garment.

6. Rotate Your Swimwear
If you swim frequently, alternate between multiple swimsuits to allow each piece adequate time to recover its shape.

7. Avoid Rough Surfaces
Sitting on rough surfaces, such as pool edges or decks, can cause pilling. Always sit on a towel to protect the fabric. This is especially important for printed swimwear, which may be more prone to pilling.

8. Store Properly
Ensure your swimwear is completely dry before storing it. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

9. Be Mindful of Chemicals and Lotions
Some sunscreens, tanning oils, deodorants, makeup, and perfumes can stain or degrade swimwear fabric. Apply them carefully and allow them to dry before putting on your swimwear.

10. Heated Pools and Chlorine Exposure
Chlorine and heated pools can accelerate fabric wear, particularly affecting the rubber and elastic components. If you frequently swim in chlorinated pools, consider choosing chlorine-resistant swimwear to extend the garment’s lifespan. Over time, exposure to chlorine may still cause some fading and loss of elasticity.

By following these care tips, you’ll extend the life of your Face the Water swimwear and keep it looking fresh and stylish. Enjoy the water with confidence!
