Meet the owner, Emma Quigley

I've always felt most at home near the water, whether it was being in it, on it, or just surrounded by it. The ocean became my sanctuary, a place where I felt strong, free, and connected, especially when swimming alongside other women who felt the same pull to the sea.

That connection became even more meaningful when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I was given a 25% chance of survival. During that time, it was the ocean and the powerful, supportive community around it that carried me through. It gave me peace, strength, and a sense of purpose when everything else felt uncertain.

When I got better, I knew I wanted to give something back. I had this desire to create something meaningful that was connected to my passion, something I could be proud of, especially as I thought about the things I still wanted to do with my life.

Face the Water was born from that dream. I knew how hard it was to find swimwear that truly fits, not just in size, but in spirit. I wanted to create a place for women who love the water, whether you're swimming for peace, for health, a challenge or just for the joy of it.

This brand is my love letter to the ocean and to every woman who finds her strength in the water.
