Face the Water Returns & Refunds Policy

We want you to love your swimwear, but if you need to return an item, we offer a 30-day return window from the date of purchase. Below are our return guidelines.

Return Eligibility

Postmarked within 30 days of receiving your order confirmation email.
Unworn, unused and in saleable condition with original tags attached and in original packaging (bags, sealed boxes, etc.)
Exclusions: Hygiene-sensitive items, which will be noted on product pages. 
For items purchased on sale, these returns are issued as store credit only.

Returns on sale items will be issued as store credit only.

Store credit will be provided in the form of a digital gift card and sent via email once the returned items have been received and inspected. This gift card can be used on any future purchase at Face the Water and expires after 3 years from date of issue.

Store credit is:

  • Non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash

  • Issued for the value of the returned item(s) only (excluding original shipping costs)

  • Single-use and valid only at facethewater.com.au

We recommend using our Swim Fit Quiz and True Fit Size Finder before purchasing to help get the right fit the first time.

Shipping & Refunds

Customers cover return shipping unless the item is faulty.
Original shipping costs (if paid) are non-refundable.
If a return reduces your order total below our free shipping threshold, a $10 shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.

 

How to Return an Item

1. Initiate Your Return:

  • Log on to www.facethewater.com
  • Log in to your account (this is created when you process an order). 
  • To find your account press this icon  in the top right corner, alternatively, click the link here

  • Your order details are stored here. Click on the box that states "Start your return."  Follow the prompts. If you would like to exchange your item, please make this request in the reason code or send an email to returns@facethewater.com.
  • We will review, confirm eligibility and process the return or exchange.

2. Pack & Ship:

  • Ensure the item meets return conditions and use trackable shipping.
  • Customers cover return shipping unless the item is faulty.

3. Refund Processing:

  • Once received, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days.

Returning a Faulty Item

If your item is faulty, follow the same steps as returning for a change of mind. If an item is defective, Face the Water will cover return shipping costs.

Note: Normal wear and tear or misuse is not considered a defect. Some brands offer repair services; contact us to check eligibility.

Refund Processing & Timeframes

Processing Time: Up to 15 business days from drop-off to refund confirmation.
Refund Method: Issued to your original payment method (may take up to 10 business days to reflect in your account).
We’ll keep you updated via email.

Return Exclusions

Sale & hygiene-sensitive items (unless faulty).
Sale items are exchanged for store credit only.
Items worn or used cannot be returned for a change of mind.

Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

You are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if an item is:
- Faulty
- Not as described
- Unfit for its intended purpose
